With its rich cultural history and ecological diversity, there is no place on earth quite like Australia. Our quilt of the Australian continent and its storied landscape depicts the Great Barrier Reef as a tactile field of French knot embroidery, the Great Outback as a subtle field of stitches, and the mountains of the Australian Alps as patterned peaks.
The Australia quilts are made of gold polysilk stitched onto a soft backing of pale blue cotton; roads and ocean topography are entirely hand-stitched. These throw-sized quilts measure approximately 60" x 72" and can be machine-washed on a gentle cycle.
City names embroidered on the quilt include: Tasmania, Perth, Uluru, Darwin, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane.
